The decade in the United States that had the highest incidence of murders and
killings. Most of these were committed by
disillusioned but narcissistic
Baby Boomers and Gen-X'ers who became jealous of their failures and the system. And by then, just decided "oh well, might as well screw up the country for everyone else!"
The 1980's were far from a safe decade in the USA. This is the era when gangs became more popular, people used drugs as a business like cocaine - (the
drug cartels formed), lots of people died of AIDS, serial killers and crime rate was
at it's highest, and people of all races and social classes became poorer - the economy was the worst since WW2. But
Reagan apparently promised to "fix it". (he really didn't)
Despite what was portrayed in the media and by naive, sheltered people, it really was a sad, frightening and depressing decade, and probably the worst decade America had seen since the Great Depression.
