"Shithole" is an adjective that President Trump use to describe specific countries that have protected immigrants in the United States that he and the Republican Party no longer want to protect. On Thursday
January 11, 2018, it was reported that while discussing protections for immigrants from Haiti,
El Salvador, and African countries in the Oval Office, President Trump remarked, “Why are we having all these people from
shithole countries come here?”

Tom Cotton,
David Perdue, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, and Representatives Bob Goodlatte and Mario Díaz-Balart.
