DUDE Nothing can describe Brand New. They are too great to even begin to explain...take it from me, and buy one of their cds. Listen and you will completely understand what I'm talking about.

A band that is good x 839842301 that doesn't really fit into one specific musical genre, so when you bluntly classify Brand New as "emo", you're kind of wrong.

Brand New, best known for their singles "The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows," and "Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades," is a very highly-reviewed band, with their latest album "Deja Entendu" being listed in the NY Times' 50 Greatest Albums of 2003. While they have been out of the mainstream for quite some time, they still have a large fanbase, and their third album, coming out October 2006, is anxiously awaited by many people. The members of Brand New are Jesse Lacey, Garrett Teirney, Vin Accardi, and Brian Lane, all of which have many fansites deidicated to them. Although many people would disagree with this, Brand New is NOT an emo band. They write songs about things actually occuring, and in person they are very nice and cheerful guys.

brand new is/was always classified in more of the indie scene and unlike EMO, jesse lacey actually writes about real life experience and doesnt complain about his mistakes or those very experiences.there sound is quite similiar to that of the smiths. jesse lacey is the deepest most profound song writer out there and i admire him for his guts and making it thru tuff sergeries and relationships JESSE LACEY IS MY HERO the best thing for brand new is to stay low key because no one wants them getting popular, so emo crowds can pretend to be "profound", instead of depressed and insane.
