A boy or a girl who is hard working, determined, has a love for hunting, fishing, rodeo/riding/ranch work. To be country means to not be scared of the outdoors and strenuous work, and they typically
work blue collar jobs such as welders, graders, landscapers, etc. If a guy rides bulls or broncs, depending on his personality he would be classified more as a cowboy. Same goes for barrel racers or
ropers for girls, they’re usually called cowgirls. They either grew up on land or have land somewhere close to ride/hunt/fish/camp on.
Being country is less about what you wear but more about what’s inside, and music taste can be a key
definer. If someone listens to
kane brown,
FGL, or dan & shay, you are NOT country. Your big heart and punchiness and manners is also a key to being country.
“Is she a
country girl?”
“Yes
ma’am she loves being on her land and working on our
ranch!”
