Flamebait
An email, usually to a message board, written with intent to offend\anger\enrage other persons, so that they will send a flaming email in reply.

I think you guys are stupid for coming to this messageboard devoted to such a waste of space as insert celebrity here

1) Flame bait is a message posted to a public Internet discussion group, such as a forum, newsgroup or mailing list, with the intent of provoking an angry response (a "flame") or argument over a topic the "troll" (original poster provoking angry response) often has no real interest in, and finds humour, or entertainment in reactions.

2) Flame bait can be a person unfamiliar with a certain discussion/topic on an internet discussion group, possibly saying things that would provoke an angry, teasing, or overall negative response.

(Here, KingR3aper, being the 'troll', is purposely provoking an angry or negative response from offended starcraft fans. Flame Baiting)

If you wanted to insult me for the inaccuracy of above definition, the definition was is an example of successful flamebait.

A douche who practices the art of the Flamebait. Someone who posts in a message board or forum for the sole purpose of starting asinine pointless arguements. Is generally hated by most.

Douche_king69 started more flamewars on the forum today, man, that guy is such a flamebaiter.

A frequent user of many message boards and battle.net that prefers to talk about sex, and un-interesting, inane topics. These topics frequently suggest brain damage.

A type of behaviour in Internet comment sections and forums.

A flamebaiter's objective is to deliberately cause a negative reaction within a certain discussion thread, that will make other users invest their time in arguing with them. Many more users will reply to the content of these comments than regular ones. It capitalises on the idea that people are more likely to contribute when they are angry to "correct" the flamebaiter.

The flamebaiter however has no intention of having their opinion "corrected" as it is either fiction or a core belief.

A comment that doesn't get a reaction: "I like how the water in this scene refracted his hands".

Opposed to: (Flamebait) "The water FX in this movie are so bad, they couldn't even match up the green screen of his hand in the water"

One will get a few likes, the other will get a barrage of replies calling the author an idiot.
