Define Just Friends Meaning

Just Friends
when you fall in love with someone, say your best friend, and it doesn't work out because you're her "Friend". to her, you're just friends.

A woman has a close male friend. This means that he is probably interested in her, which is why he hangs around so much. She sees him strictly as a friend. This always starts out with, you're a great guy, but I don't like you in that way. This is roughly the equivalent for the guy of going to a job interview and the company saying, You have a great resume, you have all the qualifications we are looking for, but we're not going to hire you. We will, however, use your resume as the basis for comparison for all other applicants. But, we're going to hire somebody who is far less qualified and is probably an alcoholic. And if he doesn't work out, we'll hire somebody else, but still not you. In fact, we will never hire you. But we will call you from time to time to complain about the person that we hired.

girl: just friends? (dies a little bit)

person: are you two together?
couple: (in perfect unison) no we're just friends.
person: (not buying it) uhuhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Just Friends
Rejection, basically, once someone says this to you, you're thrown into the friend zone, this is a hard place to get out of and you know you fucked up somewhere if this is where you end up.

Fairly good looking guy meets fairly good looking girl, a few weeks later they can't stop talking to eachother, the guy is really into her and thinks she feels the same way, he is about to say something to the girl, meanwhile the girl is thiking "great, another friend" the conversation goes like this-

guy-i've been having a great time with you lateley.
girl-me too.
(at this point the girl thinks "wow, we are so much alike", the guy is thinking "thats a good sign")
guy-i kind of have a confession to make - i have felings for you
girl-i'm so sorry, i just see us as friends
(at this point, the girl is thinking "i see us as just friends, i'm not into you in that way" the guy is thinking "for fuck sake!")
so, going by that example, the guy got thrown into the friend zone because he went about getting the girl in the wrong way, now they may still be friends, but there will be tension for a long time, other typical reasons why you might hear these words are-you're ugly/have a bad personality/the person who says this isn't single.

Just Friends
A girl can say this to assure you (the boyfriend) that her male friend is 'just a friend'

If your girlfriend says this about a guy she has been a bit too friendly towards for a while, she is lying. probably.

Man: Who's this guy you've been hanging with? He just touched your leg!

Woman: Oh relax! We're just friends!

Just Friends
A phrase that if spoken to you means one thing:
The person who said it does not deserve to have you as a friend because they cannot overcome their own ignorance.

Guy: So do you want to go out with me?
Girl: It's a nice thought but I'd rather we were just friends...
(at this point guy starts walking away)
Girl: Where are you going?
Guy: I'm doing you a favour, we both know that I'm better for you than any of your so- called boyfriends- I'm not going to give you the satisfaction of running to me when it falls apart...
(sometime later the girl's boyfriend cheats on her, she learns a lesson, but will go back to dating equally ignorant people)

If anyone ever says this to you, walk away: you deserve better even if it means letting them go...
