Define Lovesick Meaning

Being lovesick is when you love someone so much that you can't function normally. You get nauseous, stomachaches, and you cant eat. When I get lovesick I cant eat for days and my stomach is always in knots.

A deep, often depressing, feeling of wanting to find love; to be loning for love; to be without a companion to share ones life with, though it is desired deeply.

(Don't believe the other definition that has all those thumbs up for saying it is being in love and "drawing hearts in the sand" and stuff, becauase that is the opposite, that is lovestruck, not lovesick).

So deeply affected by love as to be unable to act normally. It may be reciprocated or unreciprocated.

Daydreaming, drawing hearts in the sand, constantly thinking "I wish they were here so I could share this moment" even when pulling weeds or walking the dog. In the past, lovesickness was commonly recognized and diagnosed by doctors as an inhabilitating illness and received its own prescriptions.

In spanish lovesick means "mal de amor" and in latinamerican countries such as Colombia or Mexico it has its special celebrating day.
