Mark Antony was an Ancient Roman politician, and general who was well known for his military skill. He is one of the most famous and influential figures from Ancient Rome. Antony played an important role in the transformation of the Roman Republic from an oligarchy into the autocratic Roman Empire.

After Julius Caesar's death, Antony was given control of the Eastern part of the Roman Empire which included Egypt.

Antony was a physically imposing, and confident man. Like other Roman men (and men in general), he was known to have an obsession with women and sex. Antony married 5 different women, and had a lot of children. However, his relationship with Cleopatra VII is the most famous one of all, and has become the inspiration for many love stories.
