A wealthy suburb of Birmingham, AL (it is actually technically its own city). It is the wealthiest city in Alabama and consistently ranked as one of the top 15 wealthiest (per family) cities in the nation. Mountain Brook is home to most of Alabama's "elite."
There is one high school (Mountain Brook High School), one junior high school (Mountain Brook Junior High), and four elementary schools (Cherokee Bend, Crestline, Mountain Brook, and Brookwood Forest).

Mountain Brook is known for its lavish lifestyles, Christianity (although there is a thriving Jewish populace in the city), conservatism, worship of Alabama and Auburn football, and its country clubs (Mountain Brook Country Club and Birmingham Country Club to be more specific). Mountain Brook people are pejoratively known as "brookies" by other residents of Birmingham. Famous people from Mountain Brook include Natalee Holloway and Courtney Cox.

Detractors of Mountain Brook are quick to point out it's "close-minded, ivory tower mentality," while its fans praise it for it's "good education, low crime rates, and overall safety."

Mountain Brook stores are organized around 3 "villages:" Crestline Village (where city hall is located), Mountain Brook Village, and English Village. Many Mountain Brook residents also shop at the nearby "Summit," which is not technically located in Mountain Brook.

A rich upper-class jewish filled town of intolerable white kids whom have never worked nor payed their way through anything in life and a handful of precision picked black athletes who’s mothers or fathers spontaneously acquired a position in some Mountain Brook city or educational group allowing that child to attend MBHS for specifically basketball and go on to allow MBHS to win due to outstanding black athletes and payed refs.

Mountain Brook is an extremley wealthy town in Alabama. It is FULL of money. Drug use is reasonably common only because no one knows what else to do with all of daddy's money. When we turn 16 our dad will by us a beamer or a h2 or something no less than 40,000$. We are ALWAYS called "Brookies" by all the other surrounding schools. The only place our moms will lets us shop is at Saks. About a year ago a person living in homewood(a nearby town) wrote a book called "The Tiny Kingdom". It is about Mountain Brook and the little things that we do that seem to be so funny to other people. The thing is every word of that book is true. Clothing is pretty much the same year round, For guys its kahki's and a raplh lauren or lacoste, and for girls its pretty much the same thing except they wear seven jeans. If you are a girl at Mountain Brook High School and you do not own a pair of seven jeans, then you are looked down upon. Also if you are not a member of atleast one of the two country clubs here in mountain brook, you will be looked down upon. The only sports mentioned here are golf and tennis, except for football, we live in the south football is huge! So basicly if your daddy loves you, then so will everyone else!

While it is true that most of the given examples of "Brookie" behavior aforementioned above are true, I would just like to remind the general audience to which Urband Dictionary is accustomed that said deffinitions, examples, etc. etc. are not always completely true. There ARE girls from Mountain Brook who are not sluts AND do not have their noses in the air. Listed below are a lists of terms that have never been heard from the "good" girls mouths. However, there are quite a few of both, but that makes the ones who are not even more so "diamonds in the rough" or should I say, "the brook"

A nice suburb outside of Birmingham, Alabama. Mountain Brook has an economy slightly higher than surrounding areas, ok a lot higher. The ongoing stereotype is that everyone who goes to Mountain Brook is considered a "Brookie" or someone who feeds off of Daddy's money and does drugs because there is nothing better to do. However, just because Daddy went to college, worked hard, and was successful, doesn't give the right for other people to immediately judge their kids into being "rich" boys or girls. There are some assholes and douchebags at the school, but they are devastatingly overpowered by the smart, and incredibly nice people. Mountain Brook has an incredible school structure and a community full of nice people. Unfortunately, the ongoing stereotype of Mountain Brook will continue, as the assholes who hate them will keep at their game until they decide to go drink and screw the nearest slice of booty. And while you are trashing Mountain Brook, remember this, good people live there, and they will amount to better things without the use of money.
