Define Scottsdale Meaning

Scottsdale
This wonderful city has beautiful views over looking the entire valley and terrific 10,000 sq/ft homes that come with it. There are many reasons why Scottsdale is one of the nicest cities in the U.S. one being its location. Where else can you be 2 hours from snow, 4 hours from Mexico, 6 hours from San Diego beaches, and have 340 days of wonderful sun a year? I am from Scottsdale and I am not a snob. I work hard to keep my $6,000 Jeep running and even though there are people with rediculous amounts of money, I still have yet to run into a snob. Everyone that I've met with 6 digit incomes are gratious and welcoming and happy toplease you too.

For example, a dad of a kid that I just met paid for a snowboarding trip to Sunrise (a very nice skiing moutain about 3 hours away from Scottsdale). He gave me his Hummer H1, credit card, paid for my equipment rentals, and gave me the keys to his moutain lodge in Greer, all without even meeting the man face to face. There are nice people in Scottsdale and it is truely a wonderful place to grow up in.

Scottsdale
A city in Maricopa County, Arizona, which is considered part of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. Scottsdale has a reputation as possessing a highly affluent population, represented by its abundance of country clubs, golf courses, ratio of five nail salons to each square mile, and its retail crown jewel, the overpriced Scottsdale Fashion Square. This is part myth, however, as in fact many Scottsdale residents are actually middle class to upper-middle class and merely try to maintain an appearance of affluence by living off their overextended credit.

All the Targets in Scottsdale are full of cougars in velour tracksuits. Let's go down to Tempe Marketplace instead.

Scottsdale
An affluent suburb of Phoenix that was criticized for being a haven for the nouveau riche 60 years ago, but now that the area is verging on old money, people have developed jealously towards it. People stereotype the area for expensive mansions, but the area is mostly $450,000 single-family homes. Scottsdale also has trailers, apartments, condos, and townhomes, but people focus on the minority super-rich in the area. There's also a huge difference between South Scottsdale and North Scottsdale. Living in Scottsdale does not necessarily mean you're stuck-up...it mostly likely means you want a safe area, good schools, nice homes, excellent shopping, and world class resorts.

Scottsdale's nickname is 'Snobbsdale'.

Scottsdale
Scottsdale, Arizona. Even though it is just a dry, hot and dusty place with no natural resources, people there are often snobbish and think it is a very prestigious place to live because it has a lot of man-made features like golf courses and it is more expensive than other places in Arizona.

Scottsdale
Scottsdale is a city located in Maricopa County, Arizona, USA. Named by the New York Times as "The Beverly Hills of the Desert" and by Travel Channel as one of the most luxurious destinations in the nation, Scottsdale has become internationally recognized and regarded as one of the most expensive and posh areas in the United States and a premiere tourist destination.

Old Town/South Scottsdale has many streets emulating the cowboy era, stores and primarily western art galleries. Scottsdale's number of art galleries is second only to New York City. It will also soon be home to a new research center for Arizona State University. Old Town/South Scottsdale extends from McDowell Road at the city's southern border, north to Osborn Road.

Downtown Scottsdale/Civic Center/Fashion Square is very close to Old Town Scottsdale, overlapping only a mile south on Scottsdale Road. This area includes many restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. Streets are usually filled with walking traffic after 10:00pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, as Downtown Scottsdale has one of the highest concentrations of bars and nightclubs in the country. Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall is one of the ten largest malls in the nation, with many high-end tenants including Neiman-Marcus, Nordstrom, Macy's, Burberry, Lacoste, and Louis Vuitton. Loosely, this area extends from Osborn Road north to Chaparral Road.

Central Scottsdale, an area where many shows and movies, such as Silk Stalkings, Beverly Hills 90210 and Clueless have come to shoot neigborhood scenes. Real estate in central Scottsdale is certainly booming, ranked as one of the "top 10 hot spots" by Fortune Magazine. Encompassing areas such as McCormick Ranch have seen real estate values jump from $4-500,000 to $700,000. Central Scottsdale routinely sees the demolition of older homes and new ones constructed. Some areas, such as Gainey Ranch, remain very expensive and highly desirable in the Phoenix area real estate market; homes in this area see median values in the $1-2 million range with many exceeding $5 million. This area extends from Chaparral Road north to approximately Shea Blvd. This area shares many similarities with the neighboring community of Paradise Valley, Arizona.

North Scottsdale, where most new home construction takes place. North Scottsdale is by far the most expansive area in Scottsdale. The city's borders rapidly expand to the east and west in this area, occupying the McDowell Mountain range, now preserved from development by the city. Most of the city's dozens of golf courses are located in North Scottsdale, utilizing the varied desert mountain terrain to create some of the most beautiful courses in the country. Homes in North Scottsdale see median values in the $6-700,000.00 range, with most in the area exceeding $3-4 Million in value. Many of the most expensive homes in Scottsdale are located here, selling over $20, sometimes $25 million. This area is also famous for hosting the world-renowned Barrett-Jackson Auto Show. North Scottsdale also attracts car-enthusiasts from all over the world for its collection of luxury car dealerships including Maybach, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Saleen, Lotus, McLaren, Aston Martin, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Maserati.

Scottsdale
Just like any other place in the world, there are good people and bad people. Not everyone is a spoiled snob or a dick, but there are people like that here, just like there are people like that everywhere. I wouldn't recommend it for a long term deal, but it's a nice town to live in for a while.

Scottsdale is pretty, but there's nothing to do if you're not old enough to drink.
