A combination of
swerving and weaving when driving intoxicated. Used to describe a situation which is caught immediately and but requires a fairly large correction.
Note: Can be used when not intoxicated, as in
werving when you answer your cell phone,
dig in your purse for a lighter, put makeup on using your rearview mirror, etc.
When reaching to put his cigarette in

curb and werved to avoid
hitting it.
