Phrase used for showing distaste for a situation. Mostly used for something that disrupts pleasurable (often illegal) activates, or requires too much work. “What a Drag” can be used after any major request, or statement.
A goth or emo way of saying 'look what the cat dragged in'. Cats are known for bringing dead mice/rats/birds and other vermin they may have found or killed in to their owner's home. Upon meeting someone who is disliked, by using this phrase you imply that they are the vermin mentioned above.
Phrase used to describe a mild surprise. A tide will not conjure a magical appearance of an unfamiliar object. However it will occassionally wash ashore kelp, seaweed, dead jellyfish.
