Define College Rock Meaning

College Rock
Music, stemming from college students getting together to form a band, in hopes of becoming rockstars, but doing so by straying away from any mainstream styles and doing so by being jammy and being "unique."

This ultimately results in becoming a typical college band -- having piss-poor production qualities (always done in a weekend's time at a crappy local studio), slightly out of tune vocalists and/or guitars, acoustic guitars, and lots of jamming. 99% of college bands belong to this group, which is why 99% of successful bands do not come from college formed bands.

The college rock phenomenom is why college bands rarely become succesful.

Simon's Rock College
An early college in Great Barrington Mass. All the students are would be juniors or seniors in high school, who either graduated early or dropped out to go to Simon's Rock. It's awesome, though has recently been overrun with hipsters, which can make it difficult to figure out if you're "mainstream", or they are. The official mascot is the Fighting Llama, and it does not have any official colors (though maroon is pretty common on campus). Regardless, it's an awesome place, far more awesome then some bitter person who writes mean definitions about it on urbandictionary.

Hey, you went to Simon's Rock college? You must be awesome!

Bard College At Simon's Rock
A school where people who have arrogantly deemed themselves smarter than the rest of their inferior peers meet to discuss their vast array of knowledge in the fields of politics, mathematics, science, etc., all to try and convince themselves (and each other) that the true reason they are at this school is because they were rejected socially from their old school. The school has an 80% acceptance rate, so don't be fooled by the applicants favorite motto: "It's an early college for geniuses." Expect the worst types of people to be enrolled in the school, and even worse people to leave.

Social Reject: Oh how I long to be among the intellectuals of a caliber not found at my current school. I know, I'll go to Bard College at Simon's Rock! It's a college, so it must be a school for geniuses like myself!
