Define Crabbed Meaning

Crabbed
To crab is to steal or take something that isn't yours or to 'pinch' it. People changed from using the verb to pinch, to use the word crab as this is the thing a beach crab would do.

John crabbed all of my lunch today. He's such a crab.

Does that sound anything like the vast majority of authors for the definition of "Crab", and the ones to whom they apply their definitions??

Of course, I have full respect for the actual crabs out there under rocks and in the sea and such.
