A major character in Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games Trilogy. He is the son of
a baker who is sent to compete in
the Hunger Games--a reality show where 24 teens fight to the death--in the same year as
Katniss, the main character.
He is the son of a baker, living a more comfortable lifestyle than the majority of his district. He has blonde hair and blue eyes, and is described by Katniss as having a strong build.
While some would describe
Peeta's puppy-like love (to the point of obsession) for Katniss to be 'sweet' or 'cute' it is actually quite irritating and almost creepy. This is exemplified by the fact that he has apparently been in love with her since they were five, even though they had never spoken prior to the Games.
I spend my free time crushing the obsessive spirits of
Peeta Mellark's many fangirls by pointing out that he has been stalking
Katniss since they both were very small.
Though most seem to think
Peeta is perfect, few can explain how he can be both strong and continuously need to get his ass saved by a girl.
The way that Peeta is constantly throwing himself at Katniss is nauseating.
