Refers to an object that has become
obsolete or is hardly used or hasn't been used in a long time. What is "
kicking around" is usually an annoyance or something that is often
tripped over thus it is "kicked around". Sometimes it may refer to a long lost or unused object that now can be used again. Something that only serves to be getting in the way for the time being.
Husband: Check out this extremely long list of "shit" I really don't need, but want to
collect anyway.
Wife: Don't buy
that game and "shit", it will only be "
kicking around" the house.
