The
antimatter equivalent of an
electron. It has the same mass as an electron, but opposite charge (positive). Both electrons and positrons are created by
photons through a process called pair production. Positrons are sometimes called "antielectrons".
When a
positron and
electron orbit one another, they make positronium before annihilating shortly after. A positronium
atom can bond with hydrogen to make positronium hydride, or with another positronium atom to make di-positronium.
