Define South Jersey Meaning

South Jersey..because Philadelphia is our city, we love WaWa(and there is at least 1 every 5 miles), the Eagles(people randomly shout out the E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES cheer EVERYWHERE), a good hoagie not sub/hero, a real cheesesteak, jimmies on our ice cream, you ask what exit one if from off of the NJ turnpike,its the shore not the beach (and you always go there after prom), you know where the cherry hill, moorestown, deptford and even echelon mall are, and we think North Jersey should be a separate state.

if your from south jersey, all you do is get "fucked-up" on PBR or Miller-light on the weekends. you wanna get out, but you still love it. you think philly is the shit. you go to wildwood after prom. you shop mainly in delaware. you dont watch real world: philly. your school probably sucks. you go to wawa at least once a week. you say "wooter". youre the only person in the tri-state area that can drive a car properly. you think that north jersey should be a diffrent state, its completely diffrent. youre proud, and you love it.

jersey is full of druggies pot heads and sluts. BUT we love it. we got the worst schools but good fights. we say wooder, tawk, cawfee yo and dude a lot and we loveee saying legit. animal braclets are the bomb! if u dont have any then u dont live in township. ITS JERSEY! not josiey, no one says that! no one in jersey calls it NEW jersey. wawa franks pizza and regal is the place to be. soda not pop or cola. we say yea not yes and its cuz not because and hanging out at skater's choice in 6th grade ment that u were "cool" but now if u go to a party and bring beer ur cool.yo smoking weed at the bus stop is wat everyone does. hogies and cheesesteaks- yea man. jersey and philly have the best cheesesteaks and pizza. fast food almost every night its down the shore not the beach. carnavials=

You go to a north jersey school and they all make fun of the way you say your "o"s because they just dont know how to fucking say it. North jersey is scum to you. you LOVE hoagies and might have even worked in a hoagie place. u know where to get a good cheesesteak and even if u dont really like wawa u still rep it. Philly is your city and u dont care how many times the phillies or eagles have let you down, you STILL love them and support them. North jersey really is its own state. SOUTH JERSEY IS WHERE ITS AT BABY and ill take being a hippie over being an uptight NY wanna be any day.

The region of Southern New Jersey, close to Philadelphia, generally middle to upper- middle class.
Often credited by inhabitants only for its convenience stores & (other) inhabitants, who (according to the former) apparently are all assholes.
Political opinion varies per town. Per acre, really. Far left, walk a few blocks, far right.
Highly suburban areas place great emphasis on the youth commmunity, with its good public schooling & numerous trashy high-class shopping outlets.
Most adults aged 30+ are in the suburbs to raise a family. Often through a lifetime of hard work, Baby Boomers settle in a 'nice neighborhood' in SJ only to yield offspring not nearly as disciplined or adept to the outside world.
Most youths who complain about South Jersey stay there, due to inactivity developed from years of complaining.
Most youths, for better and for worse, fall into social categories. Devotion to these labels vary.
Grass covers the highway medians, which is more than North Jersey can say. Wooods still line roads & backyards, and parks, lakes, & pines are but a short drive away.
Rednecks still prevail on the outskirts of suburbia.
A generally nice place to live & grow up.
One of the best places to live in the world in terms of safety, economy, environment, education, etc.
We still complain though. it's not perfect.

The better part of New Jersey. Yes, we have Camden, but overall we are the better half of the state. House prices aren't ridiculous, we have fewer factories, and we have the Jersey Shore. Plus, we roll with Philly, which is a much cleaner and less shitty city than New York.

Southern half of New Jersey where the area codes are 609 or 856. You love and represent Wawa as your convenience store, and all Philly teams, despite those who come here and try to root for NY/NJ teams. You go away to school your 1st year or 2 but then realize that South Jersey is where you need to be and transfer to Stockton or Rowan. The sub/hoagie thing is disputable (sub closer to the beaches, hoagie closer to Philly), but it's NEVER a hero or a grinder. We have our South Jersey accent and we're damn proud of it. People really aren't assholes here in my opinion. It's cleaner and has a lot more scenery than the north and it's a great place to raise a family. Yeah Camden and Atlantic City suck but everywhere else is fairly safe. South Jersey is better in all aspects than the north!!!

The southern and better part of New Jersey. Philadelphia is our city - we love our Phillies & Eagles (no matter how many times they let us down) and life without a WaWa is non-existant. Although many people out of state and/or country think we have a Philly/New York dialect (the Jersey Shore Cast), NONE of us talk like that down here. Maybe some up in NORTH jersey, but it's better down here, trust me. We don't even have what some of you people call a "South Jersey "accent - that just sounds weird and it's not even real..the person who made that up must've been talking to someone obviously not from around South Jersey and decided to call it a "South Jersey" accent. Anyway, most of us are friendly down here. We have the best of both worlds...lots of big cities and some country side, unlike North Jersey, all factories & smelly. We have fresh air to breathe. In the summer, we all go to the beaches.. the real Jersey Shores (Sea Isle, Ocean City, Wildwood, Cape May, Stone Harbor, Avalon, etc.) . You can go on rides, go on the boardwalk, and enjoy the fresh ocean air. Even though South Jersey is the better half on NJ, nobody likes it. Ask anyone and the only reason they are probably staying in New Jersey is because of the beaches. We know everyone hates it, but hey, someone's gotta live here.

tons of underage drinking.
malls all everywhere around here.
I personally think deptford is the best mall.
wawa is the shit.
we always chill at down the shore.
our schools blow.
tons of cops.
other than that south jersey is the place to be.

its the beach not the shore, you've been to atlantic city and you eat at white house, its a sub, you can ride your bike any where, you don't need to go to the beach after prom b.c you already live there, you have beach parties, you can't wait to get away but once you do, you can't wait to get back, you don't wear OCBP gear-- any other one is good as long as you got it the right way, you know what crew is, you know that every friday night in the summer is reserve for a lifeguard race, you love wawa- can't get enough of it- and are there at least 2 times a day, the eagles are your team no matter what, you hear and know bad things about atlantic city high school, you have thrown and been to hotel parties since freshman year, and you know that south jersey is the best place ever.
