Network that feeds off African-American stereotypes. Doesn't play real black music like blues. Viacom is killing US Television

BET music is a joke. It would be a real shocker to see performers like Keb Mo', Robert Cray, or Corey Harris featured on that network. They probably never won't.

All they ever show are songs about love, romance, sex, getting that babe, tapping her booty, sex, fucking that bitch, girl dumped me, sex, cheating spouses, evertyhing else related to sex and romance.

God fucking dammit will B.E.T. start playing a whole lot more songs that don't involve sex and love. How about they start showing good old fashioned songs about going through life's struggles, or sympathy towards relatives/friends, or songs about educational inspiration. Or even songs about the joy of raising children. Because I refuse to believe that the only songs that black people are capable of diong are cheesy love songs.

A white-owned piece of shit trying to masquerade as a channel geared toward African-American audiences. Few African-Americans have anything nice to say about it, as they recognize it to be a mere minstrel show portraying nothing but stupid-ass white stereotypes of Black culture. As numerous whites, on this board and elsewhere have said, "Blacks would be upset if we had a channel!!!" Well, you have all the other channels, plus BET which is also a white channel.

Hey, they're showing 'MALCOLM X' on BET tonite, instead of 'The Viacom shake that booty hour.' It must be February.

B.E.T is a ministrel show. Thats all you need to know. It undermines the black community and continues to make us look like a bunch of idiots. BET also teaches more like brainwash blacks into thinking being a thug and a video whore is the way to be in life. In all honesty, BET should be changed into NET(Niggas Entertainment Television). Because B.E.T has nothing but niggas for the most part.

And to white people who cry racism, please do your research before you open your mouth. First of all the company(viacom) that oversees B.E.T is mostly white. Second if you think B.E.T represents black people, then you are a racist yourself, and have bought into the stereotype they have fed you. Not to mention you all have your own white television channel its called MTV and 90% of the other channels that are on your network. Do not be so ignorant sheesh.

Um B.E.T is a ministrel show, that is all you need to know.

Black Entertainment Television. A channel, owned by Viacom, that caters to what white people think are the interests of African-Americans. It is neither evidence of affirmative action nor racism, since white people have the Country Music Television (CMT) channel (not to mention CNN, Golf and Food Networks, and all other channels, etc)and Hispanics have Univision and Telemundo. While BET is "for" African-Americans, it does not necessarily represent the views, ideas and interests of all African-Americans, just like CMT or Univision do not represent all whites and hispanics.

B.E.T. is television channel that focuses on what white people think are the interests of African-Americans.

B.E.T. should rename its "Rap City" show to "Techno City" because not one of the songs played was rap POETRY at all.

Besides, rap was dead and rotten by 1997 anyway.

If This station really is Black Entertainment Television, and it is dedicated to playing black music, why the fuck isn't it playing jazz, oldskool hip hop, funk, disco, bebop, swing, reggae, traditional African music, caribbean, black European music? And why the Hell are they only playing songs about blings, bitches, booze, and blunts?
