Cab Calloway School of the Arts (aka Cab or CCSA) is a performing and creative arts school in Wilmington Delaware. Cab is locally known to be very LGBTQ+ friendly and a very accepting
safe space. The majority of the students have liberal views although don’t be fooled, you will run into your occasional conservatives. At Cab you will also notice that the school has an overwhelming majority of white students, and you will not see a lot of ethnic/racial diversity. Many of the students at Cab come from either well off middle class, or wealthy families from
Greenville and Hokkesin; ones who are out of district and live in Newark, or Bear, etc. are blessed to have gotten into that school so they don’t have to attend an underfunded school in the Christina, or Colonial school district. They will get a good Arts, and academic foundation at Cab Calloway School of the Arts. The school shares a building with
Charter School of Wilmington and the students also share sports. The kids at both the schools have weird tension, and stigma with one another although lots of students have friends and or relationships with each other.
Cab Calloway School of the Arts is great! When I went to
Kirk middle school I was not accepted by my
peers, but now I am among people I
relate with!
