Define Edgelord Meaning

A poster on an Internet forum, (particularly 4chan) who expresses opinions which are either strongly nihilistic, ("life has no meaning," or Tyler Durden's special snowflake speech from the film Fight Club being probably the two main examples) or contain references to Hitler, Nazism, fascism, or other taboo topics which are deliberately intended to shock or offend readers.

The term "edgelord," is a noun, which came from the previous adjective, "edgy," which described the above behaviour.

Someone, especially posting on the internet, who uses shocking and nihilistic speech and opinions that they themselves may or may not actually believe to gain attention and come across as a more dangerous and unique person. Most Edgelords are teenagers trying to seem overly cool and/or over-casually apathetic.

A kid probably under the age if 13 years old who thinks that they are automatically “cool m e m e l o r d s” just by spouting the word “cringe” and making a joke about 9/11 with at least no context.

Usually a borderline physically disabled scrawny teenager or fat basement dwelling young "adult" with little to no social skills outside of the realm of the internet. Expresses strong opinions which they may not actually hold in order to cause offense or gain internet cred because their true lives are void of any real accomplishments. Video games and YouTube are their primary hobbies, as well as frequenting various internet forums while life outside passes them by.

Anyone who would act offended by the behavior of "social justice warriors," while simultaneously refusing to shut up about what they think is wrong with this country.

A person that is a master at the act of edging. This is a gender-neutral title. This can also derogatorily be used to describe a "cock tease" or for someone who is very fond of edging during sexual activities.
