Elyria is urban and depressed for the most part and can be broken down into 4 areas. The Northside, Southside, Eastside and Westside. The Northside and Eastside are a mix of urban and suburban but nice and mostly white. The Westside has some bad areas and some good areas. The Southside is poor, ghetto and is not safe at all. South elyria is very urban and has a very high crime rate with regular shootings and open air drug markets, 90% of the people who live down there are drug dealing thugs. Similar to the city of Lorain.

a city usually known as E-town, is basically full of "my baby's momma drama", lack of money and jobs, drugs....... and nasty girls who think there somebody there not.......

A high school in elyria, Ohio that is considered to be very ghetto with many ethnicities. Currently being re-built since it was the most ancient school in all of ohio. It is more of a prison now with nothing on the walls because it will void the paint warranty, and rent-a-cops everywhere. You might as well wear an orange jail suit to it, and they should just put barbed wire fences around it. Things it boasts at are sports, excellent music program, and academics.

1 Urban slang term for the South Elyria neighborhood. A section of Elyria Ohio (Cleveland area city south of Lorain), south and southwest of downtown. The borders are 5th street to the north, wood st to the south, east ave or east branch of the black river to the east, and garden st/douglas ave to the west.
the southside of elyria is most known as the ghetto and worst area of elyria. theres wilkes villa, south park, gas usa, middle ave, west ave, the village, and other areas where there is regular shootings and murders. all other major crimes happen all over the neighborhood and regularly such as carjackings, robberies, rapes, assaults, drug deals, gang violence and more. the neighborhood is mostly black/mixed increasing in black, mixed and Hispanic. theres not many white people left and the ones that are left are just as poor and ghetto as the other races. the housing on the southside 70% rentals is mostly decrepit and broken down, the few houses that look good on the outside will be grimey on the inside.

Elyria Catholic is located in Elyria, Ohio. Elyria Catholic is the high school for which most students come from other Junior highs such as St. Jude's, St. Mary's, sometimes even Open Door's. This is a high school where majority of the student's are smart asses and potheads. They usually have good grades, but there are also the few that fall behind and start to fail due to hating the damn fucked up rules and teachers there. Elyria Catholic is full of preppy bitches, and athlete's, and people trying to get into mini ivy-leagues such as Dennison College, Dartmouth College, etc. The school has more pot going around in it then Elyria High School, it's complete bullshit. There's a little bit of baby mama drama, and the school sucks. Everybody that goes there knows it, and does not like the school. WOO.

Elyria High School is a High School in Elyria, Ohio. Founded in 1830, it is notable for being the first chartered high school west of the Allegheny Mountains. The oldest section, the Washington Building (built in 1894), is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Technology building was built in 1913 with additions constructed in the 1920s. The red-brick Lincoln Building was built in the 1950s on the former site of Lincoln School which was completed in 1924.

Due to Elyria High School's age and extremely poor condition, an issue known as Issue 7, passed on May 8, 2007, after three previous attempts. Issue 7 is a $45 million dollar tax levy to pay for the new school. It will cost less than $9 a month for a $100,000 home owner. The state of Ohio will pay the remaining $23 million of the $68 million dollar total cost.

Once a decaying high school built when dinosaurs roamed the earth, Elyria High has been demolished and rebuilt as the most painfully boring High School in northeast Ohio. Jail-like and unimaginably cold, the school has new restrictions and regulations that make the local prison seem like an all-inclusive resort.

The school is also notable for the amount of self-proclaimed 'squads,' 'crews,' and 'gangs.' These groups are comprised mostly of skinny white kids who will talk shit without having the fortitude to back it up. None of them are to be taken seriously.
