Define Garba Meaning

Garba
A traditional hindu dance that is often performed on the nine days of the hindu holiday, Navratri, to celebrate the nine incarnations of Durga. This dance moves in a circular shape usually around an idol. This dance is also performed at indian weddings and is one of the festivities that occur before the marriage ceremony. Garba is often danced to a two clap song which is followed by a three clap dance called thein thalii, and it is often followed by dandaya or raas to further celebrate. Raas is played when a pair of people bang one or two sticks together to the beat of the music.
