Haram
that which Allah and the Prophet have completely and specifically forbidden. Engaging in an act that is Haram (i.e. eating food like pork, drinking alcohol, having sex outside of marriage)
Anything outlawed by Islamic practice. For example, eating pork or having sex with a woman outside of marriage is haram, but having intercourse with a man's anus in Iraq and Pakistan is not considered haram. Not praying is haram, but throwing rocks at a woman while in a group until she is dead for attempting to leave her husband is not haram.
