spice up sentences and to express very different meanings according to the way it is said.
adopted from the Malay language and widely used by Malaysians regardless of race.
also used as an "
economiser" that shortens sentences by 80 percent.
come on, lah!
translation: "come on, don't be shy" or "come on, don't waste anymore time"
ok-lah
translation: "Okay, okay, I'm sorry" (if said in
apologetic manner)
