This is a common phrase in
the island of
Cyprus among English speaking
citizens of the island. George is a common name and is used as a definition of doing something completely wrong, or the complete opposite of what it should be. It is more commonly used in the game of pilotta.
This phrase is used everywhere in Cyprus.
In a game of pilotta someone makes a bet for
kapo (or 25 points) but doesn't have all the
cards to make it.
This results in everyone
shouting at the person.
"Oh god, you pulled a george"
or if this is the 2nd time.
"You pulled another george man.."
