A band that followed in the wake of the Grunge era. Sponge is a band out of Detroit that is still around today but is hardly noticed, with band members switching all the time, the only permanent member seems to be the frontman Vinnie Dombroski. They generated some buzz with their 1993 hits "Plowed" and "Molly (Sixteen Candles)" but soon went back underground for the most part.
With that aside, they probably deserve more attention than they are getting, because they've made some amazing tunes. Overall, a band I'm glad I discovered.
A person who is of extreme (but very varied almost to the point of inability to use it) intelligence. These people will suck up bits of information like a sponge wherever they go. They also have a tendency to rapidly and haphazardly dispense this information when properly squeezed.
My friend here is a real sponge, just put him in a headlock and all sorts of inforamtion will come out.
Usually meant to describe a guy or girl that's your rebound after a breakup. They soak up all the bad/bitter/angry memories of your ex, while still allowing you free reign to continue to see/date/fuck anyone you do so please, all in an efficient effort to help you heal and get over your ex.
