A part of the 'Innocent looking flower is a horrible person' cliche, which had started becoming a huge trend in video games manly due to a character to whom he's often compared with named
Flowey, who was once formerly known as
Asriel Dreemurr.
Though Cagney Carnation is a flower in an indie game, he is not Flowey from Undertale.
