Columbia
Poetic name for the Americas, mostly dating from the nineteenth century, a feminized version of Christopher Columbus' name. Also the name of a popular female personification of the United States around that time, particularly before the construction and dedication of the Statue of Liberty; the Columbia Pictures logo is an excellent example of this allegorical figure. Several cities, counties, neighborhoods and institutions in the U.S. have Columbia as or in their name — especially the capital, the District of Columbia. Canada's westernmost province is likewise named British Columbia.

Columbia is also how dumb people spell "Colombia," a friendly and colorful nation in South America that is unfortunately beset by drug-related conflict.

Columbia
Columbia, South carolina, The Arm pit of the south. Stuck right smack dab in the heart of the midlands of SC. Between the mountains where everyone is supposedly "cultured" and the Low country where everything is nicer, the beach. we have about 4 buildings to our lovely Capital and lets not forget Grouchos and McAlisters! highschool kids love to get drunk and ride out to the middle of no where with their entirely too big of trucks and waste their parents time and money, but thats ok because everyone usually goes to the lovely instate Colleges of USC, College of Charleston and Clemson! everyone loves a south carolina girl though. Let's not forget that everyone is more or less nice in this town!
Plus people get freaked out when it rains, and can't drive in it to save their lives.

- This is a typical conversation in Columbia South Carolina
A: "i thought that the civil war was over"
B: " What you just said was wrong in two senses...It's not over, and It was the war of northern aggression, my dear."

Columbia
One of the most boring places in Maryland. Nothing is open past 9, everyone is old and rich, or "gangsta" and broke. Despite it's location, which is partway between DC and baltimore, there is still nothing to do. If you want drugs, all you have to do it walk aroung wilde lake for a bit (just don't get stabbed or shot), and If you want food there is a mall (convientally located near wilde lake). There are hardly any skate spots, and if I haven't said this before, IT SUCKS. the only completely badass thing in columbia, is DEFENESTRATION (www.freewebs.com/defenestration15)
Avoid at all costs.

Man, fuck columbia. Who knew something so great like defenestration could come from a shithole like columbia.

Columbia
A pompous anti-semetic ivy-league University where you pay for what you believe is a great education but really all that you have learned is how to be a complete and total ass after 4-years undergraduate. Save your money and go to CUNY Honors and drive around in a Mercedes S500 instead.

That school is such a columbia! Good thing I have decided to not waste my money on an inferior education with people who think that just because they go to that school they are better than everyone else.

Columbia
columbia is a country in south america that is known for it's drug trade. the place has got a totally bloody history and a not-so-good government. they really really really despise their reputation as having a drug culture. they want to be perceived as a friendly little country that everybody should invest in and all the tourists should visit. however, the ideas of the medelin cartel are caught up in everybody's minds.

columbia is famous for the coca plant. however, they'd like to be known for the coffee, not the coaine.

Columbia
I spent the first 18 years of my life in Columbia, MD but have now moved away. Columbia is a very metropolitan suburb 10 minutes outside of Baltimore, and some say it is becoming a mini baltimore. As far as suburbs go it is pretty big and not a far drive from surrounding cities. You can find a lot inside of Columbia. There are also many public pools, movie theaters, a fantastic mall, and public transportation. However, crime is bad and the way the city is built you cannot really get away from it. The good neighborhoods are placed right next to the bad ones in an effort to keep the bad neighbohoods from not being too bad and to keep from having one very bad area of Columbia. Schools are mixed with both rich and poor. Again however, as a teenager growing up there I would not raise a teenager there. All I did (and most of the kids I knew) was do drugs, drink til I could have developed a drinking problem, and engage in other things you wouldn't want your children doing. People who moved there from other places that had never been bad kids quickly became bad kids like everyone else. Many of my peers dropped out of high school and many of those peers are now still there on welfare. Now that I have moved away I realize that people don't have that high school experience everywhere. The cost of living is also extremely high. Getting a one bedroom apartment in a nice neighborhood (not the ghetto) anywhere around Columbia will cost you at least $900+/month

“should i move to Columbia?”
“depends on what part, you have to be careful in some apartment/townhome areas.

Columbia
A smallish suburb located roughly halfway between Baltimore, Md and D.C. The median income, as well as the median age of residents (and cost of living) is slowly rising. Best known for its ridiculous literary street names. The example below features actual street names.

The girl from Columbia who lived on Red Keel was jealous of her friend, who lived on Mooseberger Court.
