Three men, Tom McLaury, Frank McLaury, and Billy Clanton were killed. The Earps and Holliday left alive, but in ensuing events, Morgan Earp was shot dead, leading to a vendetta by Wyatt Earp. He was joined by Holliday and the two have become legends of the west.
