Philadelphia slang for lollipop, especially the small ones that may be found at a bank. "
Taffy" can refer to any smaller lollipop, including Dum-Dums, Tootsie Pops,
Blow Pops, etc. Only the larger swirly ones are referred to as a lollipop.
Not to be confused with
Saltwater Taffy that is found at many candy stores as well as down the shore.
Example 1: One of the
neighbors gave me a taffy when I went trick-or-treating.
Example 2: They were out of taffies at
the bank, and I really wanted one.
Example 3: This taffy tastes like
bubblegum!
