The best musical ever written. It came out in early 1996, and went to Broadway within a month. Its creator is Jonathan Larson, who died of an aneurysm the night before the first showing. Rent is the seventh longest running Broadway show ever, and closed in the September of 2008. A movie was made in 2005 with all of the OBC except for Daphne Rubin Vega and Fredi Walker.

a really really stupid piece of shit play/musical/movie that is obssessed over by drama nerds in every suburban high school in america. i mean honestly, its alright for girls but when i see a guy in his skin-tight black shirt with the word "rent" in spray-painted stencil, i just wanna go up to him and say "before you ask, no. i won't suck your dick, and you can't suck mine". its basically about this group of homosexuals who live together and give eachother AIDS, then they dont want to pay rent on their apartment. So if you like AIDS, gays, and transvestites, see this peice of shit. Otherwise, if you're normal, see wayne's world instead.

A sucky movie based on a play every white teenager I know who lives in the suburbs thinks is spectacular. Apparently breaking a nail helps you to identify with AIDS patients.

Full of ridiculous dialog and okay songs, plus the most ludicrous ending ever created (raising your dead hooker friend from the grave through song)
