The Royal Pump Rooms and Baths were opened at Leamington ,Warwickshire in the early 1800s. Other examples of spa towns in Britain include Cheltenham, Harrogate,
Llandrindod Wells, Malvern and
Tunbridge Wells. There is an area called Spa, near
Ballynahinch, Co. Down. There was a pump room and there also baths there in the late 1800s early 1900s but these have long since closed although the name still exists.
